Lisa R. Newman, Attorney

Lisa Newman has been serving estate planning and probate clients for over 20 years. With a dual-focused practice, Lisa represents individuals navigating the various phases of estate planning and handles probate matters for her clients, as well. Lisa gravitated toward estate planning because of her desire to assist people in making meaningful, yet often difficult decisions during sensitive times. “Transitions can be difficult, so I offer guidance that allows my clients to move efficiently and effectively through this phase,” she says. “I have the unique opportunity to assist in a way that can alleviate stress and help my clients create meaningful legacies.”

Lisa expertly guides families through the complex process of estate administration. She provides approachable guidance allowing her clients to feel confident and at ease when making their decisions. Lisa grew up in Dallas, has been married to Jeffrey Kaplan for more than 20 years and has a daughter who is a freshman in college.

Super Lawyers Magazine, named Lisa a Texas Rising Star in 2005 and she has been named a Texas Super Lawyer 2019-2021. Lisa has also been named a D Magazine Best Lawyer in the tax, trust and estate category in 2016, 2019, and 2021.

Lisa is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Dallas Bar Association, and the Probate, Trusts & Estates Section of the Dallas Bar Association. Lisa currently serves as chair of the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation.

Education

Lisa received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy from Tulane University, her Juris Doctor from Penn State’s Dickinson School of Law, and her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from Georgetown University.
